Where to start…when I stepped into Rhonda’s beautiful bridal boutique in Sydney I was instantly warmed by her welcoming kind nature. I was a bride from Melbourne and had searched high and low for my dream wedding gown as all brides do. Being a fashion buyer I had my heart set on designing my dress from scratch and after having visited a few bridal stores in Melbourne including high-end designer names, no one was able to understand my vision. My inspiration came from one of my favourite international designers Elie Saab, so my beautiful bridesmaid searched high and low for stockists within Australia so I could try on one of his beautiful gowns – little did we know there were only two bridal boutiques in Australia to stock this designer – Rhonda Hemmingway being one of them.
Coming from Melbourne my mum, bridesmaids and I decided to make a long weekend out of it making a few appointments at Sydney’s most well known bridal boutiques. It wasn’t until day two when I walked into Rhonda’s boutique that I knew I had found my designer. I was ecstatic that I was finally able to try on this beautiful Elie Saab gown that had sparked my own wedding gown vision, however it wasn’t so much about the gown it was Rhonda herself. Out of the dozen wedding boutiques I had visited in both Melbourne and Sydney, Rhonda was the only one that made me feel like a true bride – I remember standing in front of the mirror on the podium looking at myself in this stunning gown having her adjust it in all the right areas so I could truly appreciate my own beauty. It may sound vain but as a bride this is exactly how you want to feel when you look at yourself in a bridal gown, you want to feel that overwhelming sense of happiness where you are almost brought to tears with the joy. This is exactly how I felt and as I stood there Rhonda described her vision of my gown and it was exactly how I had envisioned it. To me it was a match made in heaven because we were both on the same page and I had every bit of confidence that I would end up with the most spectacular gown.
As I had my quarterly fittings I realized I wasn’t the only bride that had made the decision to travel interstate to see Rhonda. She has an incredible gift and I can’t thank her and her team enough for creating my beautiful wedding gown. Rhonda you truly created the most amazing masterpiece and I will cherish this journey forever xx
